PRSM version 2.5
First launched in 2021, the Participatory System Mapper (PRSM) is a free, open-source and secure tool for collaborative system mapping and visualisation. Run via web browser, PRSM helps groups of people collaboratively develop networks or ‘maps’ of policy and other systems online. The app is designed to be simple and intuitive to use, while providing the features needed for the creation and analysis of system maps.
PRSM is evolving — and it’s better than ever, thanks to feedback from our growing community of users.
Here’s what’s new:
- Stay oriented with the new minimap, making it easy to see where you are in large maps and jump quickly to different areas.
- Merge maps effortlessly, bringing together factors and links from multiple maps into one.
- Teleport between maps with our new portal feature — making complex, multi-map projects smoother and faster to navigate.
- Import and export in more formats, including Excel and Gephi files, for greater flexibility and integration.
- Create stunning, high-resolution images of your maps — perfect for presentations, reports, and publications.
- Tell the story behind your map with the new Notes panel, supporting rich text, images, and links.
With PRSM, mapping complex systems has never been more powerful — or more intuitive.
Details about these and other features can be found in the User Manual.
